GARSON, MB - Ontario born artist Lori Zebiere was raised in and around
picturesque Thunder Bay and made the move to Manitoba in 1994. A
Manitoban for 15 years now, Lori’s love of the prairies is often reflected in
her expressionistic depictions of fanciful-istic prairie landscapes, local
architecture, native plants and animals. Drawing buildings and structures
that are askew and somewhat surreal is a favourite theme and she tries to
interject a playful quality into her work. Her primary goal is not to recreate
reality, but to create something entirely new, different and unexpected.
For the past two years Lori has studied the medium of acrylic painting and
the observation of figurative drawing with Professional Artist Milos Milidrag
(MFA - University of Belgrade). These lessons have spilled over into all
aspects of her artwork, regardless of the medium.
